A Lifetime in the Trade

Dash’s was founded by a clothier who grew up in the Washington, DC clothing business and began working in stores at just sixteen. Early experience in family-run menswear shops laid a strong foundation in classic clothing and client service.

After the Georgetown stores closed in the late 1980s, the focus shifted to mastering tailoring. Time was spent in New York learning custom made clothing at the Custom Shop, developing a deep understanding of fit, fabric, and garment construction.

Work in the Big & Tall market followed, where helping clients improve their wardrobes often led to noticeable boosts in confidence. Later years were spent in luxury menswear, working with respected houses such as Brioni, Kiton, Hermès, and Prada. These experiences shaped a clear view of what quality and service should look like.

Dash’s of Old Town opened in 2005 with the goal of offering that level of knowledge and care in a more personal setting.
